04 GTO is sort of DBW or not - questions .... I have an 04 gto motor I'm putting in my Volvo.
The motor is DBW, at least I think it is, even tho it has a cable mount on the throttle body (TB), not like the corvette which only has a motor to drive the TB.
There was a cable that went from the gas pedal to a drum shaped thing with multiple cables coming off it. There was also another cable that came from what I'm guessing was the cruise control motor, but not sure. Also I have a computer that says "throttle control" or something like that. I should have taken pictures of the car as I disassembled it, but....
Is this a DBW car?
Do I need to, or can I, just have the DBW programmed out of the ECU and use my original throttle and cruise cables hooked up to the stock throttle body?
I really don't know what I have here.
I'm just finishing up my nightmare exhaust, and am starting to look towards what I hope will be much more straight forward swap stuff.
