Default Corvette P/S pump fittings

I'm having a real hard time finding a fitting that will clear the pulley on the pump. I know it is a 16mmX1.5 but i went to a big hydraulic hose place and they couldn't help me out. Everything they had was to bulky to clear the pulley. What is everybody else doing here?

I think this is what you are looking for. (The 5/8's hose barb at the bottom of the page.)

I just got one but I have not installed it yet.

Good luck.

Default Hoses for PS-Corvette Accy Drive

Ran into the same problem w/ 85 Monte crate motor and Corvette accessory drive. Ended up using AC Delco hose from Rock Auto for 2002 Corvette. The hose has approx 2" extension on pump end to put hex beyond arc of PS pulley.

good info. Since you used a GM hose, did you still need the adapter that Pace recommends? http://www.summitracing.com/parts/RUS-648060/?rtype=10

thanks.

Thanks Monte. That hose worked out good for you, unfortunately it is too short for me. I suppose I will have to buy the hose for the fitting, then cut the rest off to make a hose that will fit my steering box.

Jimbo: You got it...the number I ordered from the Rock was 36-363180. This was for the pressure line only and the hose assembly came complete w/ necessary fittings on both ends. For the return line hose, I just bent the existing return line from the 85 Monte and connected it to the Corvette reservoir.

Sounds like you're refering to the high-pressure outlet port on the Vette power-steering pump, yes? I am using the Vette pump, with the vette pulley, and am using the steel Eaton-AeroQuip o-ring adapter fitting, along with Eaton-AeroQuip stainless-steel braided line with the colored aluminum 90 degree end fitting(s), that thread onto the adapter fitting, with plenty of clearance. Eaton-AeroQuip calls this their "High-Performance" Series line & fittings. The low-pressure return line fitting in my pump is the stock/standard angled male hose barb, that comes on all the Vette pumps. I am using the stock Vette black plastic reservoir right above it, with a short piece of black push-on hose between the two. It all fits perfect. Hope this helps.
