If you're going to mod your own harness, F body harnesses are the easiest and cleanest. Alot less wires than a truck harness.

If you absolutely have to buy a 'built' harness, you can't go wrong with a Speartech harness, give John a call, tell him what you're working on. He is always here offering assistance.

I'm using a truck harness with the fuse box also. It wasn't bad at all to pull the wires not needed out. I got rid of a bunch of wires out of my harness.

If you were to use a corvette one with a DBW is it tough to convert to standard cable driven TB? Any disadvantages to Corvette harness?

I personally have not used one of Larry's harnesses, but I have been to his shop a couple of times. He was very helpful and knowledgeable and was willing to talk as long as I wanted without the guarantee of a sale. Not sure if that helps you out or not??

I melted down a bunch of pennies and made my own wire, stranded and twisted it by straining it through a calendar, then coated it with high temp insulation I made from composite plastics I had laying around, colored the wires as needed with food die, and then used all of that to build my own harness.
Assembled my own engine computer with old parts I had from Broken Pacman Machines, and an Apple IIe.

It's not that tough, just takes time, you guys should try it.

I'm cheap, am modifying my own from the truck harness with the 6.0. In the past, I've used harness' in their entirety using ALL the donor componants, including VATS, not knowing how to do it nor where to start. It doesn't seem that hard now that I've jumped into doing my own. I say that, before I've gotten it together and the engine running...
