Default PCM Question - BMW/LS1

I'm working on putting the pieces together for my 89 325/98 LS1 swap. I've got the 98 harness, but don't have a PCM. What are my options? I've found the 98 PCMs to be a lot pricier than the 99+ PCMs. Could I run a 99+ PCM with my 98 harness? Thanks in advance.

You can repin the connectors for the PCM to use the 99-2002, since you're not going to be using the fuel gauge from the F-body, you will not even have to do the segment swap on the OS

So a 99-02 PCM will work, good. What do you mean by re-pin? Thanks for your help.

He means moving some of the pins around.

Cool, which I'll be doing to make it work in the e30 anyway. The harness connector is the same regardless of the year of PCM though, correct? Thanks again for the help.

No the harness connectors are wired differant in 98, that's why you need to repin them

Ok, but regardless, my 98 harness will work (once re-pinned) on a 99-02 PCM. Any PCM from those model years (i.e. Camaro, Trans Am, Corvette?). Thanks for helping the noob.
