there are alot of other things we need to know.... give us an idea of your budget and what the rest of your settup is so we can suggest a turbo...

and yes you will have more luck in the forced induction section...

Or theturboforums.com, I'm sure you can find somebody with your setup there.

This is a friend of mine, his motor setup will more than likely be a 5.3, either a turbo cam or a z06 cam... Im suggesting either a t70 or a 76mm... He isnt looking to break the bank just looking to put something together that will be decently reliable and not too expensive to go out and beat on...

I was always told there is fast, reliable, and cheap. You can only pick two.

Borg Warner s472 with a 1.1 ar should do the trick from what I have been researching. Fast cheap and reliable.

Ya probably should have included that info like Joe said 5.3 probably z06 cam don't know if im going as far as internals yet. Cost doesn't matter as much as doing it right. i'm not reallly setting a time limit for myself.

I have a 5.3, 317 heads, 02+ LS6 CAM, 7.425 Pushrods, PRC dual springs, ls6 intake, pump gas, just over 600hp pushing a th400 and 9"....

I use a Master Power T70/.96 AR turbo..... Modular turbo sells them, they are the best turbo for the money IMHO...

I have been very happy with the turbo, it pushes 17psi daily on the 5.3... it has about 300 WOT passes and 5k hard miles on it and its still performing like a champ!!!!!

Thats the turbo i ordered for my 5.3 s10 build and thinkin about pushing around 12 psi on the tune i have, then maybe take it to speed inc to try to push some more boost with a better tune...

I think a MP t70 or a MP 76mm should push him where he wants to go... 76mm would give him room to build on though...

Default Turbo

Turbonetics TC-78 and a good tune. It will flow plenty of air to go 9s now and will be able to flow more air later if u build motor and throw more boost at it later. I bought mine from Forced Inductions.com. Talk to Jose he'll set you up with everything you need.

s400 will spool slow on a 5.3, unless u get the optional t4 frame, then your about 800 bucks, so close to the price of the tc78 which will outspool and outperform the s400.

We have the MC76 and MC78 as well which are the same turbos as the TC's.
