Default front wheel drive 5.3

Is the block different on a front wheel drive then rear wheel drive ?

I think the block is different where the trans bolts up. Also i think the crankshaft is different.

The rear of the block is different where the bellhousing bolts on and there is no provision for the starter mount. The LS4 in the FWD has the starter on the transmission. The crank is slightly shorter front and back. The bolt hole pattern is the same though.
