i am swappin a 5.3 into a firebird and want to know if a truck harness can be used instead of a ls1 because of the cost difference

I believe that you should be able to, it should be less to it than an ls1 harness unless you are going to run a different car style intake, then it has different injector plugs i believe, which you can still adapt to, in order to keep the truck harness.

What year is the car? If its a 98 or newer i wouldent even try it. get the right harness.

Any 4th gen swap Id use a 99-02 harness for. 1st, 2nd, 3rd gens, sure because it needs to be modified substantially to fit

The harness in my 92 started out as a truck harness

If you are going to use a car style intake, a significant amount of work has to be done to the truck harness to make it route like a car harness.

the harness going into my 87 TA will also be a modified truck harness. It was free with the motor and I have more time than money.
