Default LS1 swap for 2nd gen firebird 1981

Well I would like to proudly say that I have invested in a brand new LS1. Did I say new thats right it has never been run came right off the truck line. Still need to run the casting number to learn more about it, but I do know that it is a truck motor as it has the larger intake and iron block.

So I plan on putting the beast in a 1981 firebird. Also my first race car. Is this possible if so where can I get info on parts especially motor mounts.

I was planning on putting a 350 and stroking it to 383 but the cost is outrageous thats when i saw the deal of a lifetime. LS! kick the monkey's A**

Interested in pics of my firebird? check out the link http://darlingpchelp.net/images/Firebird/

Thanks Josh

I don't know about mounts, but you are going to wan to strengthen everything up if you are going LS and plan to hook.

I agree, right now I plan on driving on the crappy 301 for the summer to enjoy it for the summer. But this is going to be a winter project. Hoping to put tubular control arms, cross members.

Thanks for the post
