Default How can i make this alternator work?

I have a '91 s10 and i am trying to make an alternator work thats from a '99 blazer. The blazer alternator had just one single red wire in the plug. My factory '91 s10 plug has a brown wire and a pink with brown stripe wire. How do i make this work.

There is no "right" alternator. Its a 6.0 going in a '90's s10.

http://http://www.madelectrical.com/...hreewire.shtmlHere is a pretty decent article that explains the how's and why's. Hope this will help you out a little, or at least get you going in the right direction.

is it a CS130?
The print only shows the red wire being used

You should be able to hook the idiot light, where it normally goes to the PCM

I think its just a 100 amp from a '99 blazer. Im not sure if its a cs130. So would i even need the brown wire that is on my alternator plug? So I just hook the pink wire on my plug to the terminal "L" on the alternator?

Hook the brown wire from your harness to the new alt. Discard the pink/brown wire.

Look at the connector, the wire in pin "B" goes to the light, the service manual says it should be red, it doesn't list another wire. I looked in both 98 and 99, they're the same

Looking at your picture, there is a notch in the plug where it goes in to the alt, the wire next to it is "B"

So the brown wire in my harness is all I need? Just discard the pink/brown wire?

Yep, you just need the brown wire. The pink wire is no longer needed.
