Default 1971 chevelle ls1 transplant, accessories

I know there is a Sticky with a lot of info, but I couldn't find my answer. I am building an LS motor to transplant, and was wondering which accessory drive setup (corvette, f-body, custom, etc) best fits these cars without too much modding. I plan to turbo as well, but that is a another can of clearance worms.

I'm running the truck accessories with no clearance issues in my A-body.

Air as well? Which motor mounts did you use? Can you use the truck accessory setup with an LS style intake? I read somewhere that the alternator had clearance issues with them.

It looks like you will have some water outlet/throttle body clearance issues too. But looks like you can bend it out of the way.

I'm using the Corvette accessories and the Kwik Performance A/C compressor relocation kit on my 71 Chevelle LS2 transplant.

Corvette accessories here in a 68 A body with LS3....no issues. Close to the power steering pump but no interference.

Which mounts did you use? Are the corvette accessories and brackets from an LS3 vette, or the more common earlier corvette setups like what GM sells in their accessory kit?

I am using stock OEM from a 99 F-Body accessories.. I Notched the frame for the AC pump. Power steering pulley was very close. Depending on which rag joint you use, that can be close to the Alternators rear support bracket. A bit of grinding on the Steering Box and Alternator rear support bracket worked for me.

How much room would you have for turbo plumbing up top and in front?

You should have more than enough room, here are a few show of my installation that maybe will show you how much room I have.. if you need a better shoot, I can get some later.

I really like that traditional looking breather! Did your MAF behave ok with it being so close to those bends?

Thanks for the pics.

If you want traditional, just use a Victor Junior EFI intake with a 4 barrel TB.

I REALLY like that. Just don't think I have enough room under my ss hood for a 4-bbl throttle body and an elbow for the turbo input.

I left the screens on the MAF to help straighten the air (as it s suppose to). I can only guess that I has not impacted it too much.. it has gone high 13's with a stock LS1 and ever been on a dyno for a tune.. I know it needs it.. one of these day.. but it cruise just find, 23+mpg with 4.11 grears..
