Are you ready for the PT2014?
I am going to try and at least make Charlotte and follow them out a few hours before double back to the house. I have a little vibration issue right now I am trying to resolve. Hoping it is in the redneck u-joint I put together. If not, a new driveshaft is in order. If that doesn't resolve it I am going to look into other areas and may have to skip the tour this year. I could possibly talk the old man into taking his 64-1/2 mustang but I doubt it. I am hoping to be ready just in case you guys decide to make the trip. Let me know as soon as you know for sure.

Man it is gonna be CLOSE for me but I'm still shooting for it. The short block and transmission are back in the TA but I don't have my heads back from porting yet. They are due to arrive on Tuesday.

If I can have it fired and do the initial break in by Wed morning, I can take it for an alignment, HVAC refill, and state inspection Thursday. Then late Thursday and all day Friday I'll be putting 300-400 break in and tuning miles on it before a final oil change.

So.....if all that works out, I'm there.....lol....It's gonna be tight but that won't stop me from trying. I've been planning this for too long!

I was going to ask - are you doing any lengths of the PT?

Tight indeed! You could always take me along and show me the ropes on tuning. You can drive and I will tune, drink beer and bull sh*t. Yeah sounds like a plan to me! Hopefully everything falls into place and you can make it.

When is/was the official retirement date?

Yeah the plan was to do Concord through Norwalk. Still kinda is "the plan" but I've learned over the years most plans fall apart when the bullets start flying.....lol.

Official date is 1 August but for all intents and purposes I'm already done. Just burning up the last of my leave now. I actually start my new job the week after the tour.

Man reading this thread made my stomach churn, and I mean that in a good way. The same feeling you get when you have a crush on the prettiest girl in school. Love the split bumper Camaro, and having an LSx motor it's the best of both worlds. Good job!

The steam pipe was the stock LY6 piece. I don't remember how it was originally pointing but I did bend it to aim the way it is now. The belt is a Dayco 200-5060695.

Thanks Gary for all the information and tricks, I finally have my 73 running, I still need to get the rest of the car assembled, but it's nice to
smell smoke, here's a video.

Are you holding out for cooler weather before you start running the 73 again?
