Default LS1/T56 in 69 Camaro

I've done a lot research and have not been able to find an answer on few questions. Hopefully someone can help.
1) Does the computer need a signal from the VSS or can I wire it directly to my speedo (Dakota Digital)?
2) Does the computer need a signal from the stock oil pressure sending unit or can I remove it and put my sending unit in it's place?
3) Those that have done the swap, where did you mount the ECM? I have a vintage air system which doesn't leave a whole lot of room under the dash.
Thanks.

The computer should have VSS info supplied to it, even on a stick it uses that information for a few things. Yes, it will run without it, but I would hook it up. After that the PCM has an output for speedometer that should hook up to your Dakota Digital fine. You will need to program the speedometer as usual after that - I'm sure DD's instructions cover that.

The oil pressure doesn't need to go to the PCM at all. Disregard that and install your gauge sending unit in it's place.

That's what I was hoping. Thanks.

1) if auto trans = Yes, if T56 = no, not really, but it can't hurt.
2) Yes. ECM/PCM doesn't need the Oil pressure input
3) for my Chevelle, I put it right behind the firewall on top of the Trans Tunnel.
