Drill and tap the hole for the alt, otherwise the longblock is the the same external dimensions as your LS1

If it's GEN IV and has the cam sensor on the front cover, youll have to do some minor changes to your Fbody harness

shouldn't be any drilling and tapping going that direction. Simple swapover, install all the truck accessories/ balancer/ water pump and truck intake stuff over. You are gonna have to use the 98 car coils since the truck coil pack brackets wont bolt on your 98 valve covers but that should be no big deal. The car coil harnesses will plug into the trucks wiring fine. Should be pretty straightforward.

You never did state what year the 6.0L was ?.. do they both have 24x sensor and reluctor wheels ? (check the color of the crank sensor).

If the same, Highly suggested you get a tune anyway ... . but it should start up and run.. the question is how well...!?

I am pertty sure that the Gen IV with 58x started in the trucks from 06' or 07', and that it is a LQ4 (?) and that yours should be a 24x wheel (but as usual, I could be corrected !)

RELUCTOR WHEEL CHART
TOOTH
VEHICLE YEAR COUNT
Camaro/Firebird '99 to '02 24
Corvette '97 to '04 24
GTO '04 to '06 24
Corvette '05 to '08 58
truck '98 to '05 24
truck '06 to '08 58
