Default 5.3 Alternator output??

How many amps does the 5.3 truck alternator put out? I can't seem to find the information. While Im asking, is there an easy/cheap upgrade?

It depends on the year and options the truck had...easy way to check is look up on rockauto to see. I think they're anywhere from 105-160 something amps...

^^^ ExactlyThe AD 244 is 130 amps and was on most of the newer GM trucks/suv's i believe. From google is seems there is a CS 144 amp that is 145amps.

If its not the AD 244 you could pick that one up, if it is and you have issues there are several places that sell that alternator with upgraded internals to make it up to 300 amps.
