Default What ECM to used?

I just bought a 2000 LQ4 and I need to get a ecm for it. But I dont know If the ecms are the same in the cars and trucks? Also mine is a 2000 so do I need one for a 2000?

If you have the truck 6.0L harness you can use 99-02 "cable-throttle" truck ECM's or the 99-02 F-body ECM. You don't necessarily have to stay with the same year model as the engine you have if you cannot find one, but it does need to match the harness pinouts that you have. If you do not have a harness, you will need one for the same style of engine/intake/injectors that you are using, the main difference between the car/truck harnesses are the MAF sensor connector and injector connectors. If you use a car intake, then its easier to convert a car harness such as the F-body setup.

99-02 truck pcm, 2003 truck goes to a 1mb blue/green pcm.
