crank position sensor when did they change from the 24x? to 58x?

Default crank position sensor when did they change from the 24x? to 58x?

does anyone know when gm changed to the 58x crank sensor? was it when they went to the gen IV engines?

They started the change-over in 2006 on Corvettes and the Caddy CTS-V's, 2007 or 2008 on most of the trucks and SUV's....kind of varied by platform as to when they did the switch over.

ok, I ask because i was looking at l33 engines because it turns out the lm7 i got had the heads cracked around the exhaust bolts from the accident so the company got me another and same issue so they are going to knock 100 off the price and the only other engine they have right now is an l33 with 35k on it out of an 06 sierra and I wanted to make sure they were still 24x

so it was 07-08 they switched, that does look like when they changed to the gen IV engines

Never hurts to peek at the sensor for a final verification

Black = 24x
Gray = 58x
