Assuming you are still running the e38 computer you may need to add a tach wire to the ECU. I had to add one to mine. I then had to change the tach output in the ECU to "tach type"=crank and "resolution high" and "resolution low"=15. Finally I had to add a pull up circuit to have the tach work in my LY6. Hope this helps...

Yes, on my LY6 I put in my truck I had to add tach wire to an unused pin. I cannot remember exactly which one off the top of my head but I can look later at home. Yes, the pull up circuit amplifies the tach wire signal enough to drive the tach. I used a 1k ohm resister and a 12v+ wire to drive mine. Took a while to get it all just right but it does work properly in the end.

On my LY6 I had to add a pin and wire to pin 48 on connector X1. My LY6 and L76 both have the e38 ecu. Neither have a tach pin listed. I added it to my LY6 in my truck and it worked perfectly. I just reworked the wiring harness to my L76 yesterday and added a wire and pin to pin 48 so I hope it works the same on my new motor.
