Default 1979 Ford Failmont (4.8/Big Turbo/TH400)

Video Updates! (1-10-2013)

What I got here is a 1979 Ford Fairmont, a 900 dollar beast machine.
I bought this off some rednecks up in Space Coast (Cape Canaveral) and drove it down to Miami, hasn't given me one issue yet.

It currently has an 85hp 3.3l Inline 6. Though it came from Cape Canaveral - it is far from a Rocket Ship.

Here are a few pictures of the drive down.
The rednecks were very generous and gave me a cardboard license plate.
Yes that is my plastic removable passenger window in the back seat, came with the car.

GOALS: Realiable, Sleeper - 9.5x or 140mph in the 1/4.

More to come.

Brings back memories, you'll have to see what kind of abuse that 6 can take before you pull it.

The front end of that looks odd??

The fenders are from a Zephyr I believe. The car is all mixmatched, I think thats why they flat blacked it.

Door panels are red, head liner is grey, seats are Mexican plaid, dash is painted black.

The lil' six smokes so bad. About a quart every two weeks. I want to put some E85 in the tank, I think its running a bit rich anyway. Not sure if the mech fuel pump will like it. Going to ditch the stock fuel system during the swap as well. lol.

Still waiting on my EFI Live. Then we will have a startup video (not in the car though). I bought EFI Live on eBay from some guy who had them for 750 free shipping. Its almost 3 weeks since I bought it. I'm started to get worried and disappointed.

Yikes. Thats what scares me from buying ANYTHING more than $100.00 from Ebay. I'd try contacting them. Then place a claim.

Tried contacting them. He said he shipped it but didn't give me a tracking number when I asked. I asked again for a tracking number and he didn't respond. Tried calling the number listed and it said the phone was currently not accepting calls. I googled his shop and called that and the voice mail inbox was full. I filed a claim. I'll let eBay take care of it. He hasn't responded to the case yet.

Thanks GNX8.

Good luck. I just can't believe some people are so willing to screw others.

The only reason I did it is because it came out to a hell of a deal. Starting price 750 - 8% bing cashback and then ebay bucks...came out to 675 with free shipping.

He sent me a message today "I need your address, I seem to have entered it wrong. Your efi live showed up this morning back here at my office" In other words, he didn't send it yet - and now hes going to because theres an eBay case open. We'll see how it plays out.

I would go ahead and keep the case going...because you only have a month (from what I can remember) to get the ball rolling before you're screwed. It's already been 3 weeks, don't let him "tide" you over the last week by saying he's finally going to take care of you because the week after you will already be out of the window to get your claim taken care of with ebay/paypal.

Looks like an awesome project. These cars are coming out of the woodwork with LSx swaps! magazines, all over online. Cool!

He issued a refund today. I checked my paypal and it says its pending. He sent the refund via eCheck which I find rather odd. It says I have to wait until 8/18 for it to clear. But what if it doesn't? The eBay case has been closed already as he decided to issue a "refund."

Regardless, I've been looking at some coil overs to pick up. Looking for a deal, I'm cheap what can I say.

I have been considering going with AEM now that I'm getting my EFI Live money back. Any opinions on that? I'm really digging the extra features, nitrous control, meth control, boost control, etc.
