You can find good deals on stock harnesses if you look out, and save $$$ by modifying yourself. I paid 150 or so for my stock f-body harness.

Id recommend rebuilding your own. The ebay $350 harnesses are extremely basic. When you add in all the little functions to make it work right its about $600-650 and you still have to attach it to your stock harness

Techrods are, you call him, tell him what you want, and it comes with the fan leads, TCC, PNP etc...or whatever you don't want, all nicely labeled, and a cheat sheet to tell you why it works the way it does.......and where to hook it. New wire, connectors all wrapped in a nice package........can't speak about any others, never did use them because they never explained what you get = hidden costs.....

Techrods is the way to go. Not sure what the one guy is talking about that adding stuff jacks up the price? I called them and told them I had a 2004 chevy truck engine, but was using LS1 injectors and alternator and using a cable throttle body and he custom made it for me for the same price. You do have to wire it into your body harness, but you will have to do that anyways even if you build your own. The cool thing is everything on the Techrods Harness has labels so you know where you need to wire in Keyswitch power, battery power etc. Honestly I couldn't be happier with this harness. The harness is excellent quality and each connector is nicely labeled. Definetely "Plug and play."

Basic functions, yes, but a E class trans swap will never fire on the basic harness. Some kits even require an additional fuel pump relay to be added (extra cost of course). Even if you found one offering all the bells and whistles, several connections still need to be made. Fuel pump, IGN, batt, gauges, brake switches, cruise wires etc

In my book wire splices rules out plug and play to just a basic stand alone. The only P&P harnesses Ive seen were sent off to a company

Like someone above I went with chevythunder for mine. Clearly labeled and the sheer amount of info provided on a cd with it is amazing. I think it printed out at 55 pages of text, pictures, charts and drawings. For under $500 I got the harness and ecm programmed for my setup. Considering some shops charge that much just for an ecm flash it seemed like a good deal.
