Default Replacing an L31 with an LS1 in a 99 Suburban?

I have a 99 4WD Suburban 1500 that I tow behind my motor home and use as my driver. The L31 is in poor shape, and I was never very impressed with it. I have had an 03 Savanna 5.3 and an 06 Savanna 5.7 - both much stronger than the L31.

Has anyone done an LQ4 or LQ9 and tranny swap into a 99 era Suburban? I assume I'll need the engine/tranny/ECU, but will I also need the T-case? I know a guy who did this into a 2WD Sierra, but not a 4WD.

Anything else I should be thinking about?
