Default Looking for swap ideas

I'm new to the ls swap side of life an i'm trying to get an idea of what i'd like to do.I have a 77 monte carlo that currently has a mild 355w/th350 in it an i want to run an ls with a 4speed.I have to keep cost in mind but would like to get 400hp+.I'm going to have many newbie questions like what would be a more cost friend engine 5.3 or 6.0 truck engine, stay fuel injected or go carb.Any help would be welcome.

Lets just say what you want to do has been done lot with many other Variables.

You can't make a bad decision, you can only make it a bit harder with a wrong or mis-matched plan or parts.

Best thing you can do is really research more and as specific question on an area. Don't ask for a complete answer of how to do it from A to Z.. cause we have already answered those question too many times.

Start with researching what engine you want to use or have. Then work on a transmission if it is not already attached to the Donner engine.

Research what problems other have had with the swap body for placement and fit, then look at accessories and intake.

or start with what every your interested in starting with 1st. Don't be in a rush, plan twice, swap once ...

Good luck..
