6.0&4l80e into 82 ton 4x4 chev truck? I have a 82 ton 4x4 truck with 454-4speed and 456 gears,gets about 8mpg.I am thinking a 6.0 and 4l80e would be the way to bring this truck into the modern world.The engine and trans installation would be pretty straightfoward,I'm not too worried about that.What I dont know is what will I be facing to get the 4 wheel drive working?Starting with a pull out 6.0,4l80e and transferr case from a 3/4 or a ton what will I have to do?Anyone have any experience on this swap?Straight shift would be ok too assuming I could find a complete pullout.
