Thinking about buying my buddies caprice and doing a swap?
So my buddy is gonna sell his 87 I believe caprice classic and I'm starting to debate buying it cause its in great shape. I was just wondering if anyone had ever swapped in a fuel injected 5.3 truck motor? If so how expensive or hard would this be to do thanks.

Buy the car if you want and do the swap. As soon as the buyer finish paying me for my Vortec 350 that i currently have in mine I'll be doing a 6.0 swap. there are a few people that i know over on impallassforums that i know that have done the swap it's pretty simple. Use a hummer 5.3 oil pan so there is no need to modify your cross member or oil pan. ls6 intake, fbody headers and you should be set. The car is already fuel injected tank so all you have to do is upgrade the pump in the tank. And your set.

Ya, doing the swap in Caprice's is not too bad at all.
For any and all info on Caprice's and or LSX swaps into GM B-Bodies I would suggest PMing user name: aknovaman either here on LS1Tech or over on ImpalaSSforum.
