Default l92 to a manual valve body TH400

I'm currently running a 383 backed up by turbo 400 with a manual valve body. I've been contemplating an l92 swap but I'd like to keep my trans if possible. I've been trying to read up on everything involved in a swap like this. The hardware stuff seems pretty straight forward but I'm wondering what kind of wiring/computer stuff I'm going to have to do to make this work.

I was hoping to get away with the harness and cpu from the donor truck but I'm not sure how this would be affected by my transmission choice.

Any help or info on this swap would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Setup the harness like you would a 6 speed car... Engine harness and engine tuning dont care what trans is there and a manual valve body trans wont require anything different than it did on your 383.

To physically install it you'll likely only need the different flexplate and maybe a spacer depending on what flexplate you get. I'm no expert on the matter but know of several people who've switched from 6spd to manual valve body on LS cars.
