Default Oil pan notching

Ok I've been running around town asking people if they would notch my oil pan. One look at it they say no or quote an out of the ball park price. Does anyone have the measurements for notching the pan, also will the sump fit back in if you notch it?

BTW I've been doing a search and did not find anything on notching an oil pan.

Thanks

if you clean the pan really good the pan can be notched fairly easily, but why don;t you tell us what kind of pan and what the notch will look like? the only way to know if your pickup will work is if you know where your pickup normally sits in the pan.

since its a camaro I'm going to guess he want to notch the front part of the sump. there are multiple people on here that have done that, but from what I have heard it doesn't "have" to be done to use that pan in a first gen camaro

Default oil pan

02 z-28 oil pan into 67 camaro. had to notch pan to clear centerlink. cut back as far as possible to leave pick-up in stock location. have them weld mounts for baffle back in pan at new front most location and cut front of baffle to fit in pan. then bollt baffle back in pan and drill 2 new holes for front of baffle that line up with mounts you relocated. works swell. basicly take out chunk that is curved on front of pan bottom up to where pan flattens out to go over crossmember , maybe 1 1/2 x 2 ish. tell them not to warp it, and they still will so check it and have sealing area resurfaced if not 100% flat, it will crack pan when you tighten it if its warped. I did
