ls2 in 79 camaro all panned out
just picked up a ls2 t56 combo for my 79. obviously my pan will not work and from what i see the ls1 camaro pans are the best option. is there any out there that have used this pan do they hang too low or any fram mods that need to be done. also i see theres a retro pan out there that is shallow and cut back further as well.

The RetroLX pan is a aftermark cast pan that should work, many other steel aftermarket ones also...
If you want to go wtih cast GM ones, a F-Body pan should work (or need minor notching ?). CTS-V would be the next choice.. about 1" lower in the sump. The GM Muscle kit is a LH8 / Hummer pan, not bad but would hand even lower than the CTS-V..

I had a 79 Camaro with a 2001 f-body LS1/4L60E combo. The pan just cleared the back of the cross member. Did not hang below the cross member. I think it will depend on how far the t56 will let you move the engine back without cutting the tunnel.

F body pan or a Moroso pan with the remote filter...stay away from the GM Pan kit and the retro lsx.....it'll hang over an 2inches below ur cross member. Fbody pan would work without notching depending on engine location, Moroso one is a good price and allows for more freedom in engine placement

I have used the LH8 pan and it sucks...swapped over to a Moroso cause the LH8 pan hung 2" below, u can forget about speed bumps and lowering ur front end if u use the LH8 pan

nice well after the sema show there is going to be a couple of new kits out plus the fact that with a t56 in there it might put the pan too far foreward with ctsv pan thanks
