Default ls2 prices

Well I almost bought a l9h on ebay, but someone beat me too it. It was a brand new engine for $3199.99. Anyways i see a brand new ls2 engine on ebay for 3300 without the intake. Does this seem kind of high? I am not in a rush to buy an engine, but I also dont want to overpay for an engine. Anyone?

Whats an l9h? If this helps, LQ9 blocks(Iron 6.0 "truck" version of the ls2) used, go for about 400 bare and about 800ish assembled. L92/LS3 assembled heads go for about 400 (new) give or take. L76 manifold, last time I checked was around 500 used.
Hope this helps.

An l9h is the replacement engine for and l92/ls3 engine for a truck. i am looking at an aluminum ls2 not the cast lq4 or lq9 motors. Trying to stay on the lighter side.

Oh ok, got it. I would not pay 3300, but thats just me. That being said, I honestly dont know if thats high or not. I would take that 3300 and put it towards stroking my block that I already have, and some budget heads. But I dont think that answers your question, as we are in different scenarios.

My advice would be, post in the lounge or classifieds as WTB.

GM sold LS2 crate motors for over $5K. So $3300 for a "new" LS2 motor seems like a smoking deal to me. Maybe too good to be honest.

Guess it depends on what is included and what you mean by new.

This site is what I use as a sort of Blue Book of used LS motor prices. You can usually do better price wise buying locally, but this place has an excellent rep so IMO they are worth the price.

That L9H deal was a great price IMO. I'd look for a LY6. These are replacement LQ4s with L92/LS3 heads. It all depends on if you are set on a alum. block
