Default Intake advice for a newbie...

Picked up a 2006 4.8 truck motor (dbw) and am swapping it into my Chevy II. Hood clearance is going to be an issue. I'm wondering about swapping a lower profile stock intake from an F - body or such, but am worried about the effects of the different runner length on my small cube motor. Any thoughts or advice - I'm new to the LS motors.

Thanks.

im positive the truck intake will fit under the stock hood i have a ton of clearance on my 66
I went with a fbody intake just because the truck manifold is ugly imo

The truck intake covers look pretty cool though (opinion). I got a new voretc max one for $23 bucks or so to hold me over until I can find a caddy one. Haven't seen one in a 64 but if it fits a 66 I'd bet you're good to go. There are also other costs involved with swapping to a car intake, and I think there is a good write up floating around here somewhere.

Do have the stock front inner fenders on your '66? If so, what did you use for exhaust manifolds?

Thanks.

Check with Burke on Steve's....he has a truck intake in his 63 wagon, and it clears the stock hood.......he had to build his own headers, no stock exhaust manifolds work...
