Default 70-72 chevelle owner question

I'm doing a 72 Olds 442 swap and want to add air conditioning.
Vintage Air makes a 70-72 chevelle kit, but not an Olds kit.
The only part I'm worried about is the factory air dash control panel interchange.
Can anyone tell me the dimensions of the chevelle rectangular dash temp, blower control panel?
Ok, not really an LS related question, but I see a lot of chevelle owner regulars here.....

Ok I measures it out and came up with 7 5/8 x 1 1/2 inches. there may be a problem with my measurements b/c the guy that had the car before me put a switch panel in there. but I figure that would let you know if was gonna be close. prolly be a better question for chevelleteam.

Thanks!
Anyone else want to confirm on an unmolested panel?

I can check mine Sunday if nobody has answered by then. If you are going to use a kit with electric switches it might be possible to just mount the controls under the dash. I read some less than stellar things about those though before going with the cable-operated setup.

It is an electric switch controller. I could mount it under the dash or just swap out for a generic controller, but the VA chevelle control panel is pretty nice looking and matches the original fairly well.
Thanks again.

I got 6 1/2 x 1 3/4....looks like a generic kit for the cutlass :-(
