Default Gen 3 & 4 Aluminum Blocks

Does anyone have a list of what blocks, aside from the LS's, are aluminum?

I think the only other one is the 53.L / L33 ?.. but that information may be dated...

I think the code for them is L92 but all of the new 6.2's in trucks are aluminum (basiclly a LS3 block), and I am pretty sure the G8/automatic 5th gen Camaro had the L76 (6.0 with L92 heads). And like bczee said there is the L33 5.3.

Trailblazers and GMC Envoys use the all-aluminum 5.3 LH6.

Great info. I didn't see anything aluminum for the L98 and L99 though.

The L98 is harder to find information on, because of the Gen I(SBC) that uses the same RPO. Somewhere or another I found information on it that said it was aluminum block, and noted it down in my file, but I can't find the online source now... I'll see if I can't find it again.

EDIT: Yeah... still can't find anything that specifically says the L98 is aluminum block. However, many articles suggest that it's just a variant of the L76, which IS aluminum block.

Makes sense, GM does have a habit of reusing codes. Thanks for list, should help more than a handful of people that want to save a few pounds in the front w/o going LS1/2.

FWIW, I thought the 5th Gen auto camaro was a 6.2 (L99) The auto G8 is a 6.0 (L76).
