Default No turning back now... 1969 Camaro convertible w/LS-2, 6spd from 2006 GTO

Well, here goes..... 1969 Camaro convertible, 4spd car, going with 2006 GTO 6.0 LS-2 w/6spd TT. Game on....... Pulled old motor and sold, have LS-2, removed wiring from motor and sending to Speartech. Got EFI fuel tank from Rock auto, installing Walbro 255 fuel pump. Making engine mounting plates and crossmember myself. Using 2010 Camaro exhaust manifolds, upside down and opposite sides for exhaust(twin turbo baby). Going for a test fit of motor soon to figure out crossmember. Will try to get some pictures. Don't know how to shrink them down. My camera takes way too big of pics and it won't let me attach them...... I'll eventuall figure it out. No turning back now......
Any one with used shifter assy, let me know. Going to need alot more......

Go to one of the image hosting site and post your pictures there. I use Photobucket myself.. then all you have to do is insert the link to the picture.. Photobucket allows you to upload your pictures to another image size.

Sound like your got your plans all set.. should be a fun project.. hurry up with them Pictuers. ! LOL..

Have you decided on the style of plates.. ? Standard, 1" setback. and what oil pan are you going with ? Lot of information in the Sticky for 1st Gen F-body..

And their shouldn't even be a thought of turning back. Your just going forward Dude !..

Default 69 Drop Top TT

I figure I may as well while it's out...... I have an excellent leader for the project(my neighbor INTMD8) who is going to help me along with the project. Now I found that (CHICAGO TDP) is near by for some experience, let's go for it......
Attached is the b-4 picture of the car. More conversion pics to come....

No, not numbers matching. It was an original 4spd car, but didn't have the motor. Was going to go big block, 396 for originality, but I'm not planning on selling the car and this is my cruiser. My 70 Chevelle was an original big block car, still is and will stay that way.

Make sure you put in some subframe connectors on your vert. With a TT LSX, you will be flexing that body... just a little. Can't wait to see some pics. Scott

Just picked-up a set. You are definitly correct on that one. I plan on getting the extra "X" support for the center of the car also.

Is it true that the best gas pedal assy to use on the 1st gen Camaros is from a Vette(metal arm)???? I have the original pedal assy from the 06' GTO, but looks like it is going to need some mods... Figured I should figure this out b-4 sending the wiring to Speartech, incase plug/wiring is different. If the Vette pedal is the best, what year is the one to use????
I did a test fit over the weekend(tried to download pics, but stupid thing won't let me). Fit well, need to modify oil pan and looks like low alt mount from GTO will hit the crossmember. Has anyone else ran into this also???? I hate to mod crossmember. Thanks in advance.......

Default Getting close

Trying to fab a air cleaner assy to pull the air for the turbos through the original cowl hood. Was thinking of putting a original cowl seal around the edge to seal like factory? Hopefully the lid will flow enough?

Looks great, nice work.
I plan on doing the same in my 69 ls camaro non turbo, but I am going to make a nascar style motor cover/pan from the side motor covers and thick foam to seal it to the cowl hood.
I did it with my 67 ac cobra replica with a 4.6 mod motor and it now looks like a older motor..it hides all the ugly.
you should try the original cowl seal on yours it will look cool.

Thumbs up Camaro Motor

Thanks. I actually changed it from the original plan and did end up using the original cowl seal. I like the way it turned out. I will try to attach photo.

I like that a lot. That is one slick way of filtering the air on a turbo setup.
