Do you have any more pictures or details on the dash swap? Did you use the Camaro steering column?

Can I steal your idea for the smoothed out truck intake.?... It looks awesome as the rest of your build has turned out...I'm doing a truck intake in my wifes 88 monte. and have been wanting to do something nice with it like you did.

@carfreak07

i love the car and it is my dream via another person and years ago lol, if you can get a hold of me via email it would be amazing, i have almost the same exact setup as you did, 87 Monte Carlo LS with a 355sbc, 4:11 rear end and i just bought a LS1 and i'm getting a t56 transmission at the moment. i would just like to talk some specs to help with the process, i'm using my whole tax return plus some lol to get this done. i love what you have done with this machine and would like to be able to do the same with mine. if anyone would have the insight my project it would be you and would save my low cash having self a lot of wasted time and money to get her on the road and turning heads.

Can you explain this some? Is this like fiberglass resin, then sanding the surface smooth and filling the low spots with bondo and then painting? Did you need to trim or grind some of the ribs from the surface to minimize the depth of the fill material?

You are correct on the intake smoothing procedure! Nothin really new for the car, I did install a set of pacesetter headers last summer. I had to cut and modify 5 out Of the 8 tubes. I twisted the axle tubes in the housing and hav since welded then up. I now have a slipping clutch so I purchased an used ls7 clutch for it that will be installed very soon. I have driven the wheels off this car since the build was completed. There can be pictures found on my Facebook add me as a friend and also "like" my business page

Nice job on the both the motor and dash swap. My first car was before my Z28 was an 86 Monte so I'll always have a thing for these cars. Wouldn't mine having an LS1 swapped G-body some day.

Wanted to give an update on this car! I had some valve float issues preventing me from WOT shifting, some wheel hop issues, and the clutch was slipping. I finally cured all the issues and took it to the track! Keep in mind this is a stock cam LS1 with headers, tune, and a truck intake. The car ran a 12.11 right off the trailer, I backed that up with a 11.98@111.74x.

I was really impressed with the results, the car always felt good to me but I thought the tourque of the stock cam was fooling me! The old car even brought the left front off the pavement! I will try to get a picture posted...

Looks good. Please post more pics of the dash installed. How do you like it compared tot he Monte? You got the HVAC to work too? Some day I may venture down that path too.
Thanks,
Scot

I will try to post some pics of the interior soon as I can. I am overwhelmed with work right now. Yes all of the HVAC functions. The duct work was very time consuming!
