Nice work. I'd love to see more of the dash! I'm using the truck intake also and yours sure looks good.

This car started life as a v6, column shift, bench seat car with manual
windows and locks. How can that be classified as a "luxury sport"? It
didn't even have cup holders! Being addicted to LS engines, I approached
building this car with that engine and doing it on a budget! A donor car
was purchased for the drivetrain. One thing led to another and the out of
date Monte Carlo is now an up to date true "luxury sport".
The car retains all of the factory Camaro dash, electronics and
functions. Things such as auto headlights at dusk, steering wheel
controls, power seat, keyless entry, factory alarm, monsoon radio system
and cup holders. The engine is a stock ls1 and six speed with a modified
5.3l truck intake and a modified set of pacesetter headers. The PCM was
tuned and makes 340hp and has been a best of 11.93 at the track. It has a
12 bolt rear from a 65 chevelle with ls1 rear disc brakes and a 4.11
gear. The car runs and drives great ringing in at 24mpg and gets
thoroughly abused! The emergency brake was relocated to the center
console to allow use of the Camaro center console.
The body was extremely rough and took my father and I months to get
completed! He was the main body man and I was the painter. We used the
factory rock guard look around the bottom of the car along with the
factory half vinyl top. It was fitted with some GM zq8 wheels, some
window tint, and some up to date Monte Carlo emblems.
Engine mounts, crossmember, ac lines, rear end, and headers were all
fabricated by myself to keep cost down. This is a fun car that really
shocks people at the track and takes lots of abuse, most importantly it
was built by father and son.
