Question 5.3L or 6.0L install into '57 Chevy Truck

I have a 1957 Chevy 3200 and I'm going to be updating the engine and trans pretty soon, putting in either a 5.3L or the 6.0L (depends on availability of funds and which engine I find first). I have looked in almost all of the forum sections and have yet to find anyone that has installed a 5.3L or 6.0L into a '55 - '59 Chevy truck.
Can anyone point me in the right direction? Or better yet paste a link to the swap. I have some specific questions and if I could find someone else that has done the swap, it might clear up some of those questions.

Thanks.

Thanks for the link to your build. Truck looks good. Have you gotten the chance to drive the truck around yet? If so, hows the power with the weight of the truck?

Thanks.

Default 56 truck engine upgrade

I saw your post. Did you ever get any info on the engine upgrade? I am doing the same with a 56 3200 4x4 and I need some direction if you can help.

Thanks,

I did find a little more help over on the 67-72Chevytrucks.com website. I deceided to stick with the set up I had. Since I was already getting around 18 mpg, making the change would only net me a few more mpg and for no more than I drive the truck, I couldn't see the need.

I did find plenty of places that had good, low milage LS engine and tranmission dropouts that weren't too bad on price and they came with everything needed. One place would even set up the computer for my needs.
Don't remember the name of the place but it was out of Washington State.

If you want a turn key LS engine with a warranty we have very fair pricing and options that can take you from all stock to huge HP. Call us and we can set you up with something.

I really can't remember which site I used (that was two years ago), but you could search all salvage yards in the US. I came across a bunch in my state that were pretty reasonable but I actually contacted Spalding Auto Parts in washington state and they were really helpful and had a few dropouts for about $5,000. the engine and trans had less than 10,000 miles and they would setup the computer the way I needed it. The more miles on it the less it was. (remember that price was a few years ago).
