68 chevelle ls1 P/S whine
i swapped an LS1/6 speed combo into a 68 chevelle.im using the KWIK p/s and alt. bracket.i modded the factory 68 chevelle P/S resevoir to accept a return line.problem im having is after 10-15 minutes of running the p/s pump gets noisy and hot.i thought it was the pump.so i swapped it for a brand new one from march performance.but still doing the same thing.the fluid isnt foaming and im using correct p/s fluid, not tranny fluid.anybody have any ideas?does it need a cooler to not get hot?is heat the issue?is air getting in somewhere?has a brand new P/S box from CPP.steering worked fine when 396 big block was in with old style p/s pump.any help would be great

I got some of the same problem, some lockups.. I put a stock LS1 F-Body PS radiator cooler on and all of my issue are gone. So you might look into using a cooler of some type..
I was going to look into pressure adjustment to the box.. but with the cooler I didn't have to.
