Default 1937 Ford twin Turbo LSX

So here are some pics of my personal project. It is a little slow going since I don't get a lot of time to work on it.

1937 Ford coupe
LSX tall deck with LSX DR heads (planned) ls1 in for mock up
twin 88mm Comp Turbos
gt40 transaxle
c5 corvette suspension
Tube chassis
Chopped 5 1/2"
Sectioned aprox 6"
Widened 6" @ rear

Thats pretty much the guts of it.

The chop was easy to decide on, but it took a little playing to figure out the section.

I have a lot of bars to add still, but the basic structure is there, enough to start putting in the major pcs so I can figure out how much room I don't have to work with.

Looks like a fun project. Will there be something blocking off the engine? I foresee a LOT of heat from the motor. Guessing the turbos will be up front under the hood?

Yes there will be a rear firewall. It will have to be in several pcs so it can be removable for access. There will be an x in the cage/frame going in front of the motor from the seat belt cross bar down to the bottom frame/main hoop intersection. The panels are going to be a sandwich construction with plenty of dynomat and other insulation in between. The car is going to be a street driven car and is getting heat and air so I want to make it comfortable.

The turbos are going all the way in the rear and will sit on top of the transaxle directly behind the motor. Will be a nice show pc with the trunk open.

Its still in the planning stage. Hopefully will have the turbo's ordered in the next week or two. I am getting some help form friends with expertise with these settups so I have not really finalized numbers yet, but some where in the 427 ci range and 1800-2000 hp being the goal. The turbo's may get downsized to 82mm after a few discussions we've had lately. I am more concerned with overall driveability/spooling than max hp so we'll see.

I would like the car to be able to run Texas mile/ Bonneville and Siverstate classic, so its alot to ask of one car. Won't be the best at any of them but it will be fun to have a real baddass all around car.

Thanks for the compliments, It will be a slow project since I do everything myself, including all the custom machined stuff. Its pretty time consuming, and it only gets worked on when I have a window between shop projects.

This is going to be epic when its all said and done. I've never seen anybody do a mid-engine configuration on a 30's Ford.

I have seen a couple actually, but they were always something cheesy like a northstar complete assembly shoved in the back or worse a toronado settup. I've never seen anything on this level which is why I wanted to do it. I have been planning this thing for a long time so now I need to get it done before someone beats me to the punch.
