Check out the newest vids.
Cold startup needs work.
Gonna drop it in the chassis starting tomorrow.

Exh actually sounds pretty good with 3 flowmasters (keeps the neighbors happier more than open exhaust)

A buddy of mine built the run stand in exhange for me re-working his harness and programming his PCM. It works great for testing engines BEFORE installing it in the car. He mounted the engine high to allow oilpan removal with the engine on the stand. This summer I am going to completely re-do the whole thing. Lower the engine by 5 inches (radiator cap needs to be the highest point), change the old 3 bolt style engine mounts with LS1 F-body mounts as it takes too long to reassemble the plates and old SBC style mounts during engine changes, reduce the engine to electric fan distance, replace the hard plastic wheels with steel, mount a more permanent fuel tank and battery holder. Sandblast/paint the bellhousing.
My favorite part is the FORD blue paint.
Total cost about $400. Bellhousing = $25, Exhaust = $100, Mounts = $35, Fuel pump = $75, Steel frame = $75, Wheels = $40, '95 Camaro radiator/fans = $50, Free used Flowmasters
Don't tell me it can't be done on a very low budget.
Simply add a junkyard 5.3L for $300, $35 PCM and $50 harness and $100 mail-order programming you will be good to go!

Are you running with an old flywheel inside the bell housing to keep the rotating mass similar to a production vehicle?

Here is another board member on here that has the same cam setup on a stock long block 5.7L LS1: https://ls1tech.com/forums/dynamomet...o-results.html

Seriously, I was a little brain dead when I mistyped that. It should have been "are you using a flywheel or flexplate..." obviously from a mass standpoint. I think a flexplate without a full converter would give the computer fits from a harmonics standpoint while a flywheel - even without the clutch - would be ok due to it's additional mass.
Maybe we should start a LS1 comedy section, just for you two - first joke is on me.
