Painted the alternator so the 8k mile alternator doesnt look like it came off an engine with 100k on it.

Before

After

$120+ worth of parts never looked so insignificant

Wonder how many others freezers look like mine? And I wonder why Im single??

Well tear down is happening this up coming Monday hoping to get it all swapped by Tuesday...... LOL Just kidding! I will start monday tearing it down since Im off work for Memorial day. Hopefully harness and radiator will show up soon. Got an email from Texas Drivetrain and my trans is done and ready to ship so Ill call tommorow and pay for it. Still need to install the poly mount inserts. Installed the '10 rado map sensor since I was worried that it wouldnt fit because with the ls3 intake swap most people have used their existing 6.0 truck map for their ecu to read it correctly and have had to double up on o-rings. I guess the truck and other maps are smaller then the ls3 but turns out the '10 rado one I got is just like the ls3 since it fit very snugly and even the mounting bolt lines up!

Got the tracking number from TDP trans will be here wednesday!!!

This build it awesome. I am doing a LQ4 swap myself...haven't decided if it is going to be a 370 or a 408.

So got everything tore down so now its just the ypipe trans crossmember and engine mounts left. Got the cab tilted up which I ended up snapping the drivers front cab mount bolt so now Im pissed.

Used t56 bellhousing bought on here!

Prothane fbody poly engine mount inserts and trans mount. Still have to get the inserts installed. Got one fbody clamshell taken apart but still need to scrape the stock rubber part out. Its a major pia drilling out the rivets and getting the rubber to let go of the clamshell.

Deleted the cable operated cruise control

Pile is growing but there isnt much more to remove. Also sold a few 4.3 parts already so the money is kind of coming back in.

And starting at 4 and ending at 2 in the morning I went from here

To here, Put the engine in and out atleast a dozen times. I dont know if its because of the poly inserts or what but the spacing between frame mounts and engine mounts were way off. Drop one side down and the other side would be past the frame mount towards the outside a good 1/2" maybe the rubber mounts sagged enough to move the engine over to bolt in the other mount or something or frames just arent very consistant. Had to keep removing the fram mounts and making the bolt slots longer to move the mounts outward more, towards the fenders. got it in though but I need to raise the engine more since the front of the pan is way to close to the inner tierods for comfort. I'll try throwing washers under the frame mounts just hope that doesnt bring them closer together though.

I really like how clean your engine is. How many miles where on it? ( I skimmed through it.)
