First off, Hello to all. There is alot of great info here! I have read hours of posts and don't have a clear answer. My ? is I can get a good deal on a real low mile 04 lq4, no harness or computer.Want to go dbw. What year and wiring harness do I get? also like to keep it fairly budget friendly.Can I use and mod a f body harness and computer or do I have to have a truck harness and computer? any help is most appreciated.

Modifying a 99-02 f body for DBW is probably not cost effective.
By far, the easiest solution would be to buy a 5.3 or 6.0 03-05 harness, ecu, TAC, and pedal.

You should be able to get a harness and computer, etc no problem with the engine also. I would stick to gettting the same truck harness/ecu tac, pedal combo of the truck if your planning dbw.


Depending on what your looking for i have the tac and pedal assembly for a 04 lq4 i plan on not using.

Thanks for the quick responses. I did'nt want to make a long dragged out post, I forgot to mention my friend will give me the f body harness and computer. If I go dbc will this run that motor with some mods to the harness?

Going from DBC to DBW and reverse isnt that difficult. You need a handful of connectors, TAC module, and pedal

Yes, the Fbody harness will run the engine directly when using a DBC TB. It can also be converted
