Default 5.3 with ls1 intake

just a quick question for those who have done a conversion. The coolant crossover/bypass on the 5.3 wont let the intake sit down. Do most guys replace this or bend it or?????

I bent mine out of the way for the LS6 intake on an LQ4. Seems to fit quite nicely.

Default 5.3 with ls1 intake

I've got the same problem,so I need to ask this (maybe dumb)question. How do you bend the upper coolant fitting without destroying it to clearance the throttle body bellcrank? Thanks.

I ended up buying a used LS1 collant bypass just cause it wasnt a bad price. I was thinking about it and have head guys dont have a overheat issue if you block off the rears. So in theory you could cut the pipes and tweek a bit and connect them at the fron and rear with rubber hose. Or rubber at front and weld the the rears closed.

I bent mine. I put a small screwdriver in the pipe so it wouldn't kink and gently moved it into position.
