fuel pump wiring
Hello,
I am just wondering, what do most people do for the electrical connection to their fuel pump? From the factory, there is a waterproof connector with the three wired. I am sure that people use a connector in case they ever have to drop the tank later, so you would only unplug the connector to cut the electric to the fuel pump.

65 impala. fuel tank is a 96 impala. connector is next to the frame I am talking about, the one from the tank I got.
I have to run wires to the rear of the car. figured it would probably be good to have a quick connect somewhere in case.

Quick Disconnect
I know what you are talking about as I wanted to do the same on my set up, I went ahead and used a deutsch connector (either google it or use it as a keyword on ebay) you can get them in various sizes, meaning a 1-wire, 2-wire 3 wire or even up to loke 20-30 wire connectors and they are water proof it is probably the top of the line connector as it is used in numerous military applications, the top of the line deutsch connector requires a special crimper but MSD Electronics sells some that are made for the home do it your self person but you cant solder the connections on the cheaper version as with the solder they will not fit into their respective slots, Summit racing sells a decent strter kit for around $100.00 that includes various male and female 1,2,3,4 wire connectors and terminals and even a budget type of crimping tool comes with it, another cheaper alternative is a G.M. weatherpak connector, or even cheaper version as mentioned above junk yard and the soldering gun, Good Luck
