Default oil pan aluminum truck 5.3

Putting a 5.3 truck motor in a 55 chev, need more ground clearance? what pan will fit this block,or do i have to cut and rework the truck pan ? thanks Lee

You can have an F-body LS1 pan modified to clear the steering S&P does this.

Retrolsx.com and Holley both make a pan like this. It's designed to fit all standard SBC applications. I used it in my 70 Chevelle. I had plenty of room, but of course it will be dependent on what motor mounts you're running etc.

I have no idea how much Holley is selling the pan for. I know they just came out with it. Retro LSX was $399 plus shipping. It came with the Pan, pick up tube, o-rings, and threaded adapter for the oil filter. All I had to do was swap my baffle from the truck pan to this one.
