Default Lq4 or lq9

Hey new here on board, how can I tell which 6.0 I have lq4 or lq9? Ill be doing an a body swap.

Look at the pistons through spark plug hole
LQ4 dished
LQ9 Flat

Also look at the flex plate if its flat its most likely and LQ4 if its dished its a LQ9. The LQ9 never came with a flat flex plate. Some LQ4 had the dished though.

Only way to be 100% is look at the pistons.

No disrespect to the OP.

Aren't those 2 engines so similiar that is 6 of one & 1/2 dozen of another.

Yes and no the CR being higher in the LQ9 is more "desirable" as its higher HP.

But everything's basically the same save for pistons and rods.

Yup, same everything except pistons/rods which are coated flattop full floater pins from a LS2
