i am using the oil pan that came with the engine, ls3 corvette. If i would have found this forum sooner, i would have bought a mast pan instead of notching the crossmember....too late now.
I just bought some edelbrock headers from a guy on the forum. Tried Kooks first, but they are a no go.

update !!
Well she ran for the first time on Sunday! what a huge relief after all this hard work. had a few bugs on start up and i thought i would share in case some one else runs into similar issues.
i could not get the engine to prime at all cranked for 10 sec bursts for like an hour.......not a drop of oil and zero pressure. called a GM mechanic friend tell him the issue and he says they never prime Ls engines, they just fill them with oil and fire them up making sure the pressure is there in about 20 sec.
so hook up the computer and try to fire......nothing.... great now what? after convincing myself it was a fuel problem i worked on that for an hour. every time i would crank the engine the fuel pressure would drop to zero.....i thought it aint gonna run like that, it needs a check valve right? well they dont, the fuel delivery was perfect. (tsunami pump/reg/filters) ok now what? check for spark.....no spark. double check all my wiring, and found the ign wire i used to run the computer would cut out with the start relay, duh there is my problem, find one thats powered through the start circuit and walla!!fired right up!!what a great sound. oil pressue came up instantly. Took it for a spin and holy ****, this thing flies!!! I will post the final pics shortly, need to hook up the speedo and some other loose ends and shes done. I dont think i would have got in done so smoothy without this site, all the answers are here somewhere if you got the time to do the searches, GREAT SITE.

Nice job Chris! My 65 is taking way longer than I thought it would; kinda ran out of money. But I've got the LS3 and 6L80 are in there with the Edlbrock exhaust on it. My floor cut looks almost the same as yours. I almost went with the manual over the auto because I thought that I wouldn't need to cut the floor, glad to see that it wouldn't have mattered. How was the GM harness to work with? Any tip on which wire to use or not to use for that starting problem you had? I may end up going with Speatech if he gets the cruise control figured out for my trans. But the GM harness would save me some dough that I could use elsewhere.
Again, pretty sweet ride! Keep the pictures coming, I need the motivation.

For the ignition just make sure the power wire has juice WHILE the engine is cranking, and turns off with the key. I think the GMPP harness is less expensive than speartechs.
