Sach 1050.
See my build, I used a 10 spline clutch but you can use a 26 spline 11" clutch too.

I have the mcleod on my nova and as far as I know its is the only one that will work correctly. the crank flange on all LS motors is 0.40 inches closer to the block than on the SBC although the bellhousing mounting is the same (there are some early truck engines I believe that have a longer flange but you would have to find one) .the mcleod flywheel has an extra 0.40 inches of thickness to make this up, you could use a stock LS flywheel but the clutch would be 0.40 inches farther out on the trany input shaft and the mechanical linkage if you plan to use it would be difficult to set up. I have heard that you cant just space the the thinner flywheel out ether because the starter will not fully engage the flyweel. there is a fare amount of info about this, search for the car craft build on google.

Actually on my Richmond 6 speed/LQ9, I used a 621 style bellhousing and LS1 flywheel/clutch. The input shaft engaged fully into the LS7 pilot bushing and the 26 spline clutch was about 95%engaged on the input shaft splines.
The Sachs 1050 flywheel is about 0.4" thicker (and heavier) and is made to engage a 10 spline old style trans to an 05 6.0 truck motor (3500, manual trans).
I used the sachs since it was drilled for the old school 11" clutch that could be used with a 10 spline muncie disk.

First of all, tell us what trans you are using and what the input shaft spline count is.

I was under the impression that if you use the flywheel from a 2006 4.8, and an ls7 pilot, you can mount any sbc manual transmission

Sachs NFW1050 used on silverado (05 3500 manual trans, among others), LS7 pilot bearing, and an 11" BBC clutch (68 for 10 spline, 73+ for 26 spline), 621 bell housing, an adjustable pivot ball, and a 1 1/4" long throwout bearing.
Should allow bolting a TKO, 3550, Richmond, Mucie, T-10, Saginaw, etc to a 01+ LS, LQ, etc.
Get the flywheel and clutch bolts for an 05 3500, manual trans from the dealer.
You need to remove the alignment pins on the flywheel and enlarge 3 holes on the clutch pressure plate.

Yup used the sacks and a 621 bell with a TKO works perfect.

I think it was $70 out the door. I also had it machined out of the box was not usable in my opinion.

BTW, kit form of the above parts with what looks like the Keisler 621 "LS" bellhousing.

richmond 4+1 with a lakewood bell. input spline shouldnt matter, as that only dictates the disc, but its 26 spline.

If you have a 26 spline input nothing special is required. You can use any LS1/6 or LS2/7 clutch that you want. I'm using an LS7 clutch with a Richmond 6spd. Look in my build thread for details. Link in sig.

Wahat he said. The only advantages to that sachs flywheel is that the clutch discs splines wont overlap the the input shaft tapered front.
You'll also need a longer throwout bearing for correct fork geometry with an LS1/2/7 flywheel..

The friction surface was not flat or very nice to look at. Had it cut just to ensure no problems
