ok so Ive been reading and reading and havent found it out.... I did a swap in my 79 T/A to an LS/4L60 vette access. now it runs and everything but I have one wire left from the original 79 harness to the alt. its a factory brown wire that was cut off the original 2 prong plug that went into the alt.... can somebody please tell me how this gets wired? or if its even needed, I do know that its a field wire for the original alt, but dont know if it should be hooked up to the field wire in the vette alt?

You shouldn`t need it at all since the new LS1 alt is wired to the PCM not the dash like your 79 alt was.
