Default Red vs Green ECM connector question

I'm doing my Nova LS conversion and bought a 2000 F-body ECM from a member and a truck harness off another member. The harness has blue and green ECM connectors. The blue plugs in fine but the green won't fit into the ECM's red socket. Is it okay to just trim the tabs off the green connector to allow it to go in or must I get a red connector?

Yes, but there are some additional steps that need to happen.

Yep, I have trimmed the tabs off before to make a green connector fit the red PCM. Just be sure to rewire the harness to the red/blue pinouts.

I don't know if this is applicable to you, I bought a Red/Blue ECM with a Green/Blue harness. The O2 sensors are different in the way they are grounded. So you either need to rewire your O2 sensors or get another ECM.
If you decide to rewire, someone just posted a writeup from Lt1swap.com on how to do the O2 sensor rewire. If you search my username you should find it, or go to his site.

Thanks everyone for your advice. I do have the pin diagrams for the truck and the 2000 Camaro and will rewire as needed. I'm pretty good with wiring diagrams and had been on the LT1 site as well but this is my first attempt at making up a harness for a computer controlled vehicle. Any other advice would be welcomed.

It would be less wiring work to go with the Green/Blue PCM.

I'll trade you mine for a blue/green if you have one.
