Default VATS isn't doing its job...

Been driving my swapped car now for several years and loved the security of having a removable VATS bypass box. I've recently discovered that the car will start and run just fine without the box plugged in. It did this to me early on after the swap but from then on needed the box plugged in. Now it doesn't again. Anyone know why the PCM isn't looking for the VATS signal and what I can do to fix it?

I suppose its possible it may have lost power at some point or that the box died. I'll have to give the "reset" a try and hope the box isn't dead or I'll be making another.
