Default 73 Corvette LQ4/TH400

Hi this is our 1973 Corvette. A little about the car my parents originally won this car from Wendys back in 2004 I want to say. Well anyway they drove it for a few year replacing only little things water pump, radiator, and normal maintenance untill the other day when it gave out. Personally the 190hp was never enough anyway so we decided to go with an LQ4/th400 swap. Here is the car today...

We plan on picking the motor up this friday and ill be pulling the old one out prob tomorrow so ill post pics.

Advice/Imput welcome

Nice, I love seeing c3's with ls conversions. Check out the corvette forum there is a guy that is going to make chrome bumper conversions.

I reused the truck TB on both my conversions. LS1 intakes are cheap. You can reuse your truck injectors with aftermarket rails too.
Cant help on the auto, but if you've got any other questions I've got an LQ9 in my 68 vette.

How so? I thought there was a difference in the truck injectors vs the LS1 injectors going into the LS1 intake. Could you explain more please?

Non-flex fuel injectors have a plastic tip. Remove it and it will fit in an LS1 intake. Flex fuel fit wothout changes. An aftermarket fuel rail will be needed to fit the short truck injectors.

I used a cleaned up truck harness on both my swaps. Biggest problem for the vette is finding a mounting location. There was not enough wire to mount it up behind the passenger wheel well, so I made a metal box and mounted it to the passenger angled footwell sction.

Thanks for the link looks good. I test fit the engine the other day with the truck intake on and its prob 2.5 - 3 inch's to tall I knew this befor I did it but I was bored. I bought a ls1 intake manifold with the rails injectors and throttle body for 250.00. off ebay waiting on it now. The stock truck header fits on the driver side fine but is just a little to tight on the pass. side so im looking for some headers that fit mayve Z06 one idk.

Ok so I just ordered a set of C5 headers, a Walboro 255 inline pump, and last a C5 filter/reg. Sound good ? Also do you think I need a pre pump filter ?

Pre pump filter is always a good idea. But the sock on the pickup tube is probably adequate if it's in good shape.
BTW, those plates will move the trans forward about 1 1/4" so your driveshaft may need to be lengthened.

I dont use a prepump filter just the sock in tank and the c5 filter.I also used the 255 and since i dont have baffles in the tank i came close to running out one night and burnt pump up.SOOO im modifying my tank and probably going back with same pump.

I found that out on my first swap and ended up spending more on bolts from the dealer than I did on the intake. On my second swap, I got the bolts with the intake.....
