Question Trans. Choice - 4L60-E or 200-4R

If you were starting from scratch on a mild LS swap and planned to go mild NA 5.7L or bigger, what would you go with?

The car would be 3600lbs wet, no driver. Rear would be 3.73.

The goal would be DD reliability and mileage; a mild cam wouldn't be out of the question.

200-4R cores (from 86-88 SSs) are in-hand. Driveshaft for either is in-hand.

I guess for me, the 200-4R ratios are preferable but I like being able to monitor / diagnose things with a PCM.

Anyone running a non-E trans with an LS_., please chime in.

Default

I got mine with a 200 in more or less limited driving shape; in the two miles or so I have on it after getting the tv made easy system setup it seems to work fine. Hope to have a better answer once I get the car tuned. From scratch if I had drive shafts sitting around I'd probably go with the 4l60e just to eliminate the TV issue and use a dbw tb.
